Established in 1979 the Rara National Park is named after the beautiful Rara Lake/Mahendra Lake, which is the largest lake of Nepal, situated at an altitude of 2990 m. above the sea level. The Rara National Park is in a rich coniferous forest and was partly established to preserve the Rara Lake which is an important staging point for migratory birds. The parks flora and fauna is rich in diversity and conserves some of the most representative plants and animal life of central Himalaya. The area contains enormous potential for exploring the vast biodiversity of Nepal and Eco-tourism in general.
The Rara Lake trek is one of the most unique, peace and mystical trekking route in the planet. Its glimpses of untouched culture, less crowded, less explored, lush and fascinating scenery is quite different from the rest of Nepal. Situated in high altitude, you can find the lake surrounded by Rara National Park with pine, spruce and juniper forest. The views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks enhance the attraction of trekkers. The trek begins with flight to Jumla (over an hour flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Then we will stay overnight in Nepalgunj. After taking breakfast we will fly to Jumla 2540m then embark our adventure journey towards to amazing Rara Lake. Going along the mountain path and some villages only can reach the bank of Rara lake. Now days small group trekkers can manage with basic tea house/home stay trek too. The best time for Rara Lake trek is March to May and September to November. Day 01: Welcome at Airport & transfer to the Hotel.
Day 02: Free day for trekking preparation
Day 03: After Breakfast fly to Nepalgunj (1hrs) and overnight in hotel.
Day 04: Fly from Nepalgunj to Jumla (2,540m/8,334ft), 20 minutes then trek to Chere Chaur. (3055m/10,023ft)
Day 05: Chere Chaur to Chalachaur (2980m/9,777ft)
Day 06: Chalachaur to Sinja Valley (2490m/8169ft)
Day 07: Sinja to Ghorosingha (3050m/10007ft)
Day 08: Ghorosingha to Rara Lake (3010m/9876ft)
Day 09: Explore Rara Lake
Day 10: Rara Lake to Pina (2440m/ 8006ft)
Day 11: Pina to Bumra (2850m/9351ft)
Day 12: Bumra to Jumla (2540m/8334ft)
Day 13: Fly to Nepalgunj then fly to Kathmandu same day
Day 14: Leisure day
Day 15: Join with different program or farewell.
